So the conclave elected Nosferatu to be the new Pope. Nevermind that he was part of the Hitler Youth movement back in the day. Fine, DailyKos says this isn't the same thing as being a Nazi. Fair enough. Maybe I've been watching too much Hitler on the History Channel lately. In any case, it makes me squirm. Not to mention the ultraconservatism part.
I really wanted the Nigerian. Whatever. Boo.

im reading angels and demons by dan brown(same guy that wrote davinci code) and its all about the pope and the conclave..anyways its crazy they elected this guy.
i dont think the pope really has much political persuasions, more of a symbolic deity. anyways, hope all is good, oh and come on msn, we'll chat.

It IS an interesting choice. A signal is certainly being sent that progressive change is not supported. His age is a factor here also. So perhaps it's not a long term freeze on progressive views.
