Heaven Knows They're Miserable Now

Certain members of the House are complaining about the newly proposed five-day work week.

I know. I'm as shocked as you are. But not as shocked as this guy:
"Keeping us up here eats away at families," said Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), who typically flies home on Thursdays and returns to Washington on Tuesdays. "Marriages suffer. The Democrats could care less about families -- that's what this says."
Right. This fool apparently only works three days a week.

Say something like that to people like my dad, who had to work three jobs to put me through college and see if you'll find a sympathetic ear.

Wow, five days a week. Poor babies. Do you think that Bob Packwood would be worried about his family?

I think I have a solution to this. Let the Republicans work zero days a week. Just don't show up...especially for votes. Better for their families, better for the country. Anyone with me?

I almost choked on my dinner last night when I saw this on the news! Personally, I think he's just mourning the loss of frequent flier miles.

I'm not on the Republicans' side, but I will say, don't they have to spend time in their constituency? If so, wouldn't he have been better served to say so? What a tool.

This useless mook's plaint didn't go over too well with members of the military, who've been separated from their families for months at a time while on multiple postings to Afghanistan and Iraq, either. These people have gotten so used to being unquestioned that they seem to have lost all sense of caring how self-centered they sound.

Mags, forgive me ahead of time for my language, but this takes the fucking cake. What bubble has this bastard been living in all of his posh life? Does he have any idea how many blue-collar families are affected by the strain of two parents working at least 8-hour days Monday through Friday? Someone as self-obsessed as this asshole surely has his constituents' best interests at heart.
